Het inspanningsniveau van patiënten met idiopathische pulmonale hypertensie en een ijzertekort verbetert als zij worden behandeld met een infuus met een hoge dosis ijzer. Ook de kwaliteit van leven nam toe. Arts en onderzoeker Gerrina Ruiter toont dit aan in een kleine studie waarin 30 mensen gedurende 12 weken na het infuus werden onderzocht.
